Guitar Tuition
Hi! My name is Robin. I offer one-to-one guitar lessons to beginner and intermediate players in the Sheffield S8 area. I can teach either acoustic or electric guitar techniques in a wide range of styles, including pop, rock, indie, blues and metal. I can also incorporate music theory into my lessons if required, as well as offer advice on performance and gear, tips for navigating the live music world and more!
How it works
I recommend that we begin with a phone/video call to discuss the musical style(s) you’re interested in, your current level of ability, and your future goals in terms of your playing. Once we’ve established what you’d like to focus on I will devise a rough lesson plan. Most students choose to have one half-hour lesson per week, and I can be fairly flexible with days and times. You’re not required to block book lessons or make any upfront payments and there is no obligation to continue with lessons - you can pause or end them at any time.
What I require from you
In addition to owning your own guitar (acoustic or electric), you must be willing to practice in between lessons (at least 10 mins each day, ideally). You will struggle to make progress if you don’t keep up with regular practice, so please bear this in mind and ensure that you’re able to commit to this. I will, of course, assist in providing you with practice exercises, as well as encouragement and motivation as you embark on your guitar journey!
Rates
My rate is £22 per half-hour / £44 per hour. This also includes summary emails following your lessons and digital learning resources where relevant.
Location
Face-to-face lessons are held at my house in Norton Lees S8, or please get in touch to discuss your needs. I can also offer online lessons via Zoom.
About me
I am a professional musician and music composer with over 20 years experience in the industry. In addition to writing commercial music for film and TV, I am a songwriter and live guitarist for Maybeshewill, an instrumental rock band which has released 5 albums and toured globally, performing at shows and festivals in Asia, North America, Australia and across Europe.
